South African cycling fans will be familiar with the e-FORT brand through their sponsorship of Amy Wakefield initially and Candice Lill currently. Behind the scenes, the company has been using the data from Lill, the Massi ISB Sport team, Margot Moschetti, and now the UCI World Series Decathlon Ford team, to build a training platform which does far more than display data. “e-FORT AI does not list your numbers,” their launch press release explained. “It guides each athlete towards their optimum — the one that fits them at this precise point in their season, week and night. It is an intelligence trained in physiology, tactics and planning, not a generic assistant connected to data.”

How e-FORT Analyses and Presents Athlete Data
The analysis begins with each individual’s historic data, then overlays the scheduled training session or race with that day’s weather conditions, the athlete’s sleep the night before, other stated life constraints, as well as the session and overall goal. The aim is to place performance data within a context that supports training and racing outcomes.
Within that context, e-FORT AI assesses intent. A session is assessed not by its averages, but by what it was meant to achieve. That is the difference between a report and a debrief.
From the debrief, it can then advise athletes and coaches on the next step, writing sessions from the initial plan, adjusting sessions to allow for external factors, as well as updated training data. These updates are suggested, not implemented until approved by the athlete or coach.

Validated models, not a Visualisation Layer
e-FORT claims that their AI system analyses data and produces reports based on validated scientific models, rather than simply presenting the data in a visualisation. The four models below calibrate to each athlete’s history, and as more data accumulates, the more accurate its predictions become. Making the platform more valuable over time to both coaches and athletes.

- Anaerobic Reserve
Critical Power / W’ Balance
Critical Power (CP) and W’ Balance model an athlete’s finite anaerobic energy capacity and sustainable threshold in real time. Reserve is depleted above critical power and replenished below it, following kinetics whose time constant depends on recovery intensity. The model predicts exhaustion and guides effort management. e-FORT uses three models to best determine W’ Balance, Skiba for committed amateurs, while for advanced riders and elite racers, the Bartram and Pugh models are deployed.
- Fitness and Fatigue
Banister Training Load Model
Using 42 days and 7 days counters to describe the long-term evolution of fitness in contrast to the accumulation of fatigue during racing and training. The Banister Model determines daily freshness and readiness for exercise.
- Overnight recalibration
Heart-rate Variability on Waking
Heart Rate Variability two standard deviations below baseline signals central-nervous-system fatigue that load models do not detect. E-FORT’s system adjusts the day’s target before the activity to account for fatigue, if detected.

Tactical-Impulse Analysis
The power curve is cross-referenced with terrain to distinguish expenditure that creates a real speed gain from expenditure that does not. E-FORT uses AI to perform time-consuming tasks elite coaches previously performed by hand.

A United Ecosystem
e-FORT’s AI brings four aspects of cycling together into one ecosystem to help endurance sport athletes perform.

Refining Team Management
e-FORT’s team management component allows for the creation of a complete roster of staff and athlete accounts, then assigns roles and permissions to each, to treat data with the correct degree of confidentiality. From the dashboard, coaches and management can track multi-athlete performance, providing coaches and management with the ability to view all athletes in one view, or to dive into an individual’s performance metrics. The AI can also cross-analyse the entire roster to identify
the real performance levers, and provide cross-comparison, fatigue profiles, as well as season-long form trends. A team AI assistant can be empowered with access to all roster data, so that it can aid in race planning, assigning courses and race strategies to each athlete.
The system also allows for race-weekend management, allowing teams to import or create courses, and then identify key points to alert the athletes of. These courses can be exported as FIT or GPX files for use with GPS head units or smartwatches.

Teams can create a race calendar in the e-FORT system, assign courses, riders, and track registration status for each calendar event. Then assign tracking beacons, add staff to the event, plan logistics, and create a daily schedule. During the event, the live monitoring system can showcase performance through time splits and comparative race analysis between team athletes.
After creating templates, brand guidelines, and uploading sponsor logos, the e-FORT AI system can generate race reports, which staff can edit and publish. This saves time and keeps sponsors up to date on the team’s performances.

Technical Partnership with SRAM
In partnership with SRAM, through the component manufacturer’s Hammerhead platform, e-FORT can harness and assess the data generated from the SRAM AXS and RockShox Flight Attendant systems. Through SRAM’s system integration and the connectivity allowed by the Hammerhead Karoo bicycle computers, e-FORT can gather, analyse, and report on suspension, drivetrain, cadence, and power, while overlaying terrain details for deeper insights into athletic performance.
A further development initiated at the request of SRAM/Hammerhead will be launched late in 2026. The e-FORT extension for Hammerhead Karoo will allow the device to display key performance indicators on screen, highlight approaching key points in the route, provide live tracking back to the team, and allow for instant messaging to the athlete’s device.

- Exclusive On-Screen KPIs
The KPI’s include second-by-second anaerobic reserve, Normalised Power, IF and TSS calculated using the day’s effective FTP, which is recalibrated overnight, not taken from an outdated figure entered months before.
