Cycle Lab Expands into the Garden Route with a New George Store

South Africa’s largest cycling retailer, Cycle Lab, will open its first Garden Route branch in the regional capital, George. The new store, located in the Eden Meander Lifestyle Centre, will open on Tuesday, 1 September 2026. It will boast Cycle Lab’s famous broad range of world-class brands, including bicycles, components, apparel, and sports nutrition. Alongside the retail section, the workshop will be the heartbeat of the George store, providing all cyclists, regardless of the bike they ride, with exceptional service and support.

The Garden Route has long been famed as a holiday destination, and in recent years the semigration trend within South Africa has seen a steady increase not only in the region’s population but also in economic growth. As the administrative, schooling, and economic capital of the Garden Route, George has been at the forefront of this growth.  Outside of the City of Cape Town, George has developed into the largest municipality and intermediate city in the Western Cape. This, coupled with the superb road, gravel, and mountain biking on offer in the Garden Route, inspired Cycle Lab to invest in a new George store.

Cycle Lab George will follow the model established by the Paarl (pictured) and Ballito Cycle Lab stores.

Cycle Lab George, located in the Eden Meander Lifestyle Centre, will open its doors for the first time on Tuesday, 1 September 2026, and the grand opening is open to the public. Spot prizes will also be awarded, incentivising a first look on the store’s first day of trading. Bicycles on display include road, mountain, gravel, eBikes, and kids’ bikes from Giant, Liv, Marvel, Merida, Orbea, SCOTT, Silverback, and Titan Racing. The George store will feature apparel by Ciovita, Wattz, Santini, Assos, and First Ascent alongside helmets by MET, SCOTT, Leatt, Giro, and Oakley.

GPS head units, indoor trainers, as well as nutrition by Biogen, Named Sport, Cadence, and PowerBar are stocked to keep cyclists informed on rides, fuelled, and riding through the cold winter months. Cockpit upgrades from PRO, along with saddles by Fizik or Sella Italia, provide for bike fitting as well as performance-enhancing needs.
